Monday Classes for Kindergarten-1st

​1st Period:

Anatomy- My Body-  (Carrie F.)

Paced with other elementary anatomy classes, we will use hands on strategies to help our beginning readers learn about their body and how it illustrates Intelligent Design.  All materials will be provided and completed in class.  The fee for this class will be $5.

Literature Pockets- (Melissa E.) - THIS CLASS IS FULL

Using the Evan-Moor Literature Pockets curriculum, we will cover comprehension, writing and art activities based on a new story each week.  Lessons will be based on the  Caldecott Winners,  Folktales & Fairy Tales, and Nursery Rhymes curriculum.  The cost for this class will be $5.

2nd Period:

Math Games- (Betsy T.)

We will be playing fun learning and hands-on games.  We will be learning addition, subtraction, place value, measurement, and telling time.  They will be able to take home many of the games that we make.  This class has a $5 class fee.  

​

PE and Health - (Rachael N.)

In this class, the students will not only be physically active through games and activities, they will also be digging into how their bodies work and caring for them through healthy eating and exercise.  There will be no fees for this class.

3rd Period:

Legos - (Jen A) - THIS CLASS IS FULL

Explore math, science, letters, and games through the world of Lego!  Each week we will have a new STEM challenge to engage growing minds.  After the challenge is complete there will be a time for creative building.  So both little engineers and little artists will enjoy this class.  There will be no fees for this class.

4th Period:

Nature Detectives- (Risa B.) - THIS CLASS IS FULL

Our nature detectives program will be a fun discovery of the natural world around us.  We will examine plants, animals, habitats, landforms, and climates using crafts, experiments, and show and tell opportunities.  There will be a $5 fee for this class.

​

Memory Verses - (Patsy G)

Each week we will be learning a practical life skill paired with a memory verse.  Some examples of things we will cover are washing dishes, folding clothes, waiting your turn, vacuuming, etc.  We will emphasize that EVERYTHING we do should be for the glory of God.  There will be a $5 fee for the first semester.
